Clean Slate is made by a partnership between Moselland of Bernkastel-Kues, Germany, and Winebox, a fine wine importer. Clean Slate’s name reflects the thin, blue-slate stones that make up the soil of the Mosel Valley. The slate retains the warmth of the sun and helps grapes mature and ripen even after sunset. The slate is so precious and essential that it is retrieved from the river if the stones slides out of the vineyard and into the water.
